The bigger picture
One question, explored from many directions.
The Perth Agreement hopes to bring three strands into conversation. Each has something to contribute, and the intention is to make room for them to learn from one another.
Academic
Research, scrutiny, student ideas and practical design: testing what would work, what wouldn’t, and what could work better.
Political
Public policy, cooperation between nations, and the institutions needed to support delivery. The governments of 188 UN member states have received the invitation, and no objection has been received. No government has endorsed it, and no endorsement is claimed.
Religious and ethical
Perspectives on human dignity, shared responsibility and care for one another, across different faiths and traditions, and including people of no faith.
How this fits with existing efforts
The Perth Agreement builds on work already under way: the right to food, UN Goal 2 (Zero Hunger), the School Meals Coalition and the Global Alliance Against Hunger and Poverty. See how it fits.
How it works
- Share a question or idea at any time. Be kind. Ideas that meet our publishing rules appear on the open record once approved, for others to read, question and build on.
- Within about two months of the invitation: we'd love a first response, with questions, suggestions or what you'd like to explore.
- Ideas grow as more universities join; every idea stays open to all.
- Building towards a proposed signing of The Perth Agreement in August 2027.
This is a suggestion. Better ideas are welcome.
